$2.9 Million Settlement Obtained for Man Who Nearly Died in Police Custody

Attorney Richard P. Weisbeck, Jr. recently obtained a $2.9 million settlement on behalf of his client, who nearly died while in police custody. The defendants in this lawsuit included the City of Buffalo, the Buffalo Police Department, Regal Cinemas, and American Medical Response ambulance company.

In a front-page story, The Buffalo News published an in-depth report on Noah Giusiana, the victim in this case who suffered a life-threatening brain injury as the result of being slammed onto a sidewalk by a Regal Cinema security officer.

Several Media Outlets Report on Lawsuit Filed on Behalf of The Estate of a Deceased Detainee Who Died in The Erie County Holding Center Due to Lack of Adequate Medical Attention

Several media outlets have reported on a lawsuit, which was recently filed by attorneys from Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria, on behalf of the estate of Sean Riordan.

As detailed in a press release issued by Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria, Mr. Riordan died on his 30th birthday due to lack of adequate medical attention, care, and treatment while he was in the care and custody of Erie County, the Sheriff, and the Erie County Sheriff’s Department.

Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria Continues the Fight to Help Victims of Childhood Sexual Assault

Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria LLP was in bankruptcy court this week representing child victims in their battle with the Diocese of Buffalo.

Partner, Rick Weisbeck, called out the child molesters masquerading as priests, former bishops, pastors, and other church officials describing them as “weak men who lack character” and who put their own interests above the interests of the child victims.

He stated that the child victims were sent to Catholic schools and churches to learn values that would guide them in adulthood to “always do the right thing”.
