Criminal Department Attorney

Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria LLP is seeking an Attorney to join its Criminal Department.

Candidates must possess strong knowledge of criminal law; analytical, communication and negotiation skills; a comprehensive understanding of compassion and empathy; initiative. Must be an effective at communicating complex information; an ability to prioritize and meet multiple and competing deadlines; and be detailed oriented.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior Criminal Department attorneys.
  • Interview clients in various settings, e.g., offices, jails, detention centers, hospitals.
  • Review discovery and evidence
  • Schedule court appearances.
  • Participate in plea negotiations.
  • Attend conferences, hearings and trials in Federal & state courts.
  • Interact with State & Federal prosecutors.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions and pleadings.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation for criminal cases.

Compensation:

  • $95,000 – $115,000 annually, depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Workers’ Compensation Attorney

Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria LLP is seeking an Attorney to join its Workers’ Compensation & Social Security Disability Department.

Candidates must possess initiative; excellent writing, drafting, organizational, communication and client services skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex legal matters in helping injured workers navigate the legal landscape.
  • Draft pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct opening and closing statements, cross examination of vocational and medical witnesses and have a thorough familiarity with the record of each case.
  • Prepare clients for hearing and appear before Administrative Law Judges to advocate on behalf of disabled clients at hearings.
  • Analyzing cases and address issues.

Compensation:

  • $85,000 – $120,000 annually, depending on a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.

Qualified candidate must possess at least 5 years’ of experience as a Paralegal performing various functions and task with processing personal injury matters. Candidate must possess Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Paralegal certificate is a plus. Ideal candidate must have strong organizational, client service and MS Office skills.

General Accountant

Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria is seeking a General Accountant to join the firm’s Accounting Department.

The General Accountant will assist with daily operations and functions in the Accounting Department as well as provide support to other members and users of the Accounting Department. The General Accountant must possess initiative, accounting, financial organizational, communication and internal client services skills. Selected candidate will work with a high level of accuracy and efficiency with the Firm’s accounting and financial systems in a fast paced environment.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and enter general ledger entries in the Firm’s accounting system.
  • Assist in performing various accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Assist with trust accounts, billing functions and collections.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records or with billing issues.
  • Assist in generating ad hoc performance and financial reports from Aderant system.
  • Support generating monthly financial and management reports, performing account reconciliations and ledger reviews.
  • Assist with data entry, invoice processing, and bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records.
  • Maintain fixed assets records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting, Aderant system as well as client and matter issues.
  • Manage records, projects, and deadlines to ensure smooth accounting department operations.
  • Prepare 1099-year end reporting.
  • Participate in improving Aderant Software workflows including conflict checks, file matter opening and account management.

Compensation:

  • $60,000 – $75,000 annualized, commensurate with experience, education, skills and qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience, internships, or relevant coursework experience

  • Familiarity with banking websites

Candidates must be energetic, organized & able to perform continuous indoor& outdoor physical activities including extensive walking, lifting and driving. Responsible for deliveries & errands both on foot as well as driving; transferring & moving boxes; filing & recording legal documents; stocking supplies, and other general office and clerical duties.
