If a person is convicted of a DWI offense, he or she may be instructed by the court to\u00a0attend\u00a0meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous<\/a>. The intended purpose of sending convicted motorists to AA is to\u00a0reduce sentencing and help break unhealthy and illegal behavior patterns. With the help of an attorney, the offender may present a case to the judge to reduce sentencing in exchange for attending a number of AA meetings.<\/p>\n
